Terms and Conditions
Norway-vps.com · Last updated: 29. October 2026

These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern your use of the virtual private server (VPS) and related services (the "Services") provided by Norway-vps. By placing an order or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Definitions
• Customer / you: the person or company that orders or uses the Services.
• Consumer: an individual who buys the Services mainly for purposes outside their trade, business or profession.
• Server: a virtual machine or container provided to you as part of the Services.
• Resources: CPU, memory, storage, bandwidth, IP addresses and other capacity allocated to your Server.

2. The Services
We provide virtual servers hosted on our infrastructure in Norway. The plan, Resources, price and billing period are shown at the time of order. The Services are provided for lawful use only and in accordance with these Terms.
You are responsible for administering the operating system and software on your Server, unless you have purchased a managed service. This includes updates, security hardening, firewall configuration, passwords and SSH keys.

3. Orders and account
To order, you must provide accurate and complete information and be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement. You must be at least 18 years old. An agreement is formed when we confirm your order or begin provisioning the Server, whichever comes first.
You are responsible for all activity on your account and Servers. Keep your credentials confidential and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. We may require identity verification, and we may decline or cancel an order, for example if we suspect fraud or abuse.

4. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in Euro at checkout. Services are billed in advance for the selected billing period. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled.
Payment is due on the invoice due date. If payment is late, we may charge statutory interest and reminder fees as allowed by law, and we may suspend the Services under section 9. We may change prices for future billing periods by giving you at least [30] days' written notice. If you do not accept a price change, you may cancel before it takes effect.

5. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel a subscription at any time through your control panel or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period already paid for, and we do not refund the remaining part of a period unless these Terms or the law say otherwise.
If you are a Consumer, you may have a statutory right of withdrawal. See our Withdrawal Policy for details. Nothing in these Terms limits your mandatory rights under Norwegian consumer law.

6. Acceptable use
You must not use the Services, or allow others to use them, for any of the following:
• Illegal activity, or content that is illegal in Norway, including child sexual abuse material, content that incites violence or hatred, and infringement of copyright or other intellectual property rights.
• Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam), phishing, or running open mail relays.
• Attacks on other systems, including DoS/DDoS attacks, port scanning of third-party networks without authorisation, brute-force attempts, malware distribution, and operating botnets or command-and-control servers.
• Running open proxies, open DNS resolvers or other services that can be abused to amplify attacks, unless properly restricted.
• Cryptocurrency mining, if the plan does not explicitly permit it.
• Impersonating other IP addresses or MAC addresses, or using IP addresses that have not been assigned to your Server (IP or ARP spoofing).
• Attempting to access other customers' Servers, our infrastructure, or the network segments used for management of the platform.
• Anything that significantly degrades the performance of the platform or other customers' Services.
We may restrict certain traffic by default, for example outgoing connections on port 25, to protect the network and its reputation. You can ask us to lift a restriction if you have a legitimate use and appropriate safeguards.

7. Abuse handling
We may receive complaints about your Server from third parties, authorities or our upstream providers. We may forward complaints to you, and you must respond and fix the problem within the time stated in our notice. If the matter is serious or urgent, we may take immediate action under section 9 without prior notice. We may disclose information about you to authorities when required by law or a court order.

8. Network, IP addresses and availability
IP addresses are allocated to you for the duration of the Services and remain our property or that of our upstream provider. You have no right to transfer them. We may change IP addresses when necessary for technical or operational reasons and will give you reasonable notice where possible.
We aim to provide a stable and available service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation [unless a separate service level agreement (SLA) applies]. We may carry out planned maintenance and will try to announce it in advance. Emergency maintenance may be carried out without notice. Network connectivity depends on third parties, including our internet provider, and we are not responsible for outages outside our reasonable control.

9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate the Services, in whole or in part, with or without notice, if:
• you breach these Terms, in particular sections 4 or 6;
• your Server causes or is likely to cause harm to the network, our infrastructure or other customers, or is subject to an attack;
• we are required to do so by law, an authority or a court;
• we reasonably suspect fraud or unauthorised use of payment methods.
Where practicable and not in conflict with security or legal requirements, we will notify you and give you a reasonable period to correct the issue before termination. If we terminate due to your breach, we are not obliged to refund amounts already paid. We may charge reasonable costs for investigation and handling of serious misuse.
We may also terminate a subscription without cause by giving at least [30] days' written notice, in which case we will refund any prepaid amount for the period after termination.

10. Data, backups and deletion
You are responsible for your data and for taking backups. Unless you have purchased a backup service, we do not guarantee that data can be restored after loss, corruption or deletion. Even where we offer backups, you should keep your own copies of important data.
After termination or expiry, we will keep your Server data for [3] days where technically possible, and then delete it permanently and irreversibly. You can export your data before this. We do not have an obligation to retain or recover data after deletion.

11. Privacy and data protection
We process personal data about you in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law, including the GDPR as implemented in Norway. If you store or process personal data about other people on your Server, you are the controller of that data (or processor on behalf of a controller), and you are responsible for complying with the law. We act as a processor for the data on your Server to the extent that we process it, and we will enter into a data processing agreement on request.
We do not access the content of your Server except where necessary for operation, security, support at your request, to handle abuse, or when required by law.

12. Intellectual property
You keep all rights to the content you store on your Server. You grant us the limited right to host, store, copy and transmit that content as necessary to provide the Services. You must have the right to use all software, licences and content you install on your Server.

13. Liability
We are liable for losses caused by our negligence or breach of the agreement, subject to the limits below and to mandatory law. For Customers who are not Consumers:
• we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost revenue, loss of data or goodwill;
• our total liability for any claim or series of related claims is limited to the amount you paid for the Service affected during the [3] months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limits do not apply to losses caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or where the law does not permit such limitation. For Consumers, nothing in these Terms limits liability or rights that cannot be limited under Norwegian consumer protection law.
You are liable for losses we or third parties suffer as a result of your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Services, and you agree to indemnify us against claims from third parties arising from your use.

14. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to perform an obligation (other than payment) caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, power or network outages, attacks on infrastructure, strikes, actions of authorities, or failures of third-party providers. The affected party must notify the other promptly and try to limit the effects.

15. Support
Support is available through tickets at portal.norway-vps.com, and e-mail support@norway-vps.com. We do not have set opening hours. Support covers the availability of the platform and the Servers. It does not include help with software, applications or configuration inside your Server unless you have purchased managed services.

16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes that are disadvantageous to you, we will give at least 30 days notice by email or through the control panel. If you do not accept the changes, you may cancel before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new Terms. The Terms in force at the time you ordered apply for the rest of a paid billing period if the change is detrimental to Consumers, unless the law allows otherwise.

17. Notices
We may send notices to the email address in your account. You must keep your contact details up to date. Notices are considered received when sent. You can contact us at support@norway-vps.com

18. Governing law, complaints and disputes
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. Consumers keep any mandatory rights under the law of the country where they live.
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at support@norway-vps.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. Consumers can also contact the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet), the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet) or the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
Disputes that cannot be settled amicably will be resolved by the Norwegian courts. Consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of their place of residence where the law gives them that right.
